If you want to send money in the form of coins and banknotes to family and friends living abroad, you may have to think twice on it. Though some of the countries allow sending banknotes through courier and post, the process maybe complicated with loads of restrictions.

Sending money inside packages or parcels are restricted by most of the courier companies, including DHL, UPS and SF Express. Cash is one of the common forbidden that is not recommended for shipping abroad.

Apart from cash, some of the valuable items are also prohibited from shipping abroad. Some examples are listed below:

  • Coins and banknotes

  • Lottery tickets

  • Coupons

  • Credit card and debit card

  • Document that can exchange for money

  • Dividend warrant

  • Cheques
